25 suspected terrorists arrested in Turkey

At least 25 suspected terrorists were arrested across Turkey, said security sources on Sunday.

Ankara security and intelligence branch teams arrested 11 suspected terrorists who were said to be in preparation to organize provocative rallies in Ankara, Istanbul, and Adana before May 1, Labor Day, said the source requesting anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to media.

The source said the suspects were members of far-left terror groups.

In another operation, Turkish air forces destroyed shelters and depots of PKK terrorists in northern Iraq, said the General Staff on Sunday.

Separately, the provincial gendarmerie brigade announced that 14 suspected PKK terrorists were arrested in the Beskale district of the southeastern Van province.

During the operation, security forces seized three hunting rifles, 15 cellphones, 11 sim cards and material designed to spread terror propaganda.

On Saturday Turkish airstrikes hit northern Iraq’s Hakurk district where PKK terrorists were in preparation to attack at police stations and city centers.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the death of some 40,000 people.
