Four killed in attack on Afghan security forces in Kabul

At least four people were killed after a suicide attack targeting members of Afghanistan's security forces on the outskirts of the capital, Kabul.

Nasrat Rahimi told RFE/RL, Interior Ministry representative said, that 6 others were injured in Paghman area in western Kabul on December 11 when a suicide car bomber struck a security convoy.

 

Every one of those killed or wounded were individuals from the Afghan security forces, as indicated by Rahimi.
Another ministry representative, Najib Danish, said the convoy was returning from an overnight operation.

Danish included,"It is as yet uncertain whether the assailant was by walking or driving a vehicle."
An unidentified security official was quoted as saying the attack targeted a team from Afghanistan's fundamental knowledge organization, the National Directorate for Security. No gathering has instantly asserted obligation regarding the bombarding. 

Authorities said the early morning attack in western Kabul came hours after an overnight Taliban assault on a checkpoint in the southern province of Kandahar.
