Qatar Airways (QA) would surprise the world with its plans ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Group Chief Executive Akbar al Baker has said.

Asked about the Qatar Airways’ plans for the 2022 World Cup as “Official Partner and the ‘Official Airline of FIFA’, Baker said: “We won’t reveal our secrets with regards to the 2022 World Cup. We want to surprise people. If I tell you of our plans three years in advance, then there will be no surprises.”

“You would see that Qatar will host the best ever FIFA World Cup in 2022. Qatar can always organise the biggest events anywhere in the world,” QA chief said on the sidelines of the Qatar Football Association’s ceremony honouring the players for winning the Asian Cup.

Baker praised the victorious Asian Cup players for their stupendous show.

“The players raised our flag so high all over the world with what they have achieved considering all the pressure that we have faced in the last 18 months and we have proved to the world that our nation is very strong and united.”

As for its plans for the FIFA World Cup, according to Qatar Airways website, the airline has already begun its plans. 

The website has said they would be bringing exclusive offers for Privilege Club members as the date for the 2022 World Cup approaches. It said QA will be offering football fans a range of travel packages including flights, access to world-class hotels and exclusive activities that deliver once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

“As Qatar prepares to host the 2022 World Cup, we look forward to welcoming you to our home, where you can enjoy a combination of extraordinary football, beautiful beaches, exhilarating outdoor adventures, world-class museums and much more,” it added.
