The Big Bang Theory managed to create a real-life couple as Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki, who play Penny and Leonard on the show, revealed that they had begun dating outside of the TV show after years of trying to be a couple on-screen.

The couple revealed to the world back in 2010 that they had secretly been dating for more than two years and had been forced to lie to their friends and avoid paparazzi so that their relationship didn’t become another scrutinized celebrity romance. The duo’s real life romance didn’t continue down the same route as their on-screen characters, though, as the couple revealed that they had gone their separate ways in 2013. Penny and Leonard are still in love on the hit TV show, which means that Kaley and Johnny have been forced to remain friends and continue to act like lovers on-screen.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were thrust into the spotlight back in 2008 when Twilight was first released. Despite a lot of negative responses from fans of the movies stating that the couple seemingly didn’t have any chemistry, it was later confirmed that the duo were dating in real life.

The couple continued to date until the final film was wrapped up in 2012 but that was when it was revealed that Kristen Stewart was part of a cheating scandal that also included the director of Snow White And The Huntsman, Rupert Sanders. Luckily, the films had already been completed so the couple didn’t have to reprise their roles as Bella Swann and Edward Cullen but Robert and Kristen still had to work together to promote the final film and do media appearances before they were finally able to go their separate ways.
