9. Taylor Swift
We all know Taylor Swift for her singing career, but the actress is having a transitional period as she chases the big screen after featuring in some hit films. There seems to be a common theme on this list; everyone who was deemed to be different by their peers turned out to be truly unique, as they went on to achieve tremendous success. You can add Taylor Swift to the list as another name who was unpopular as a teenager, mainly due to her interest in country music as opposed to other genres.
Her classmates avoided her as much as possible since she wasn’t part of the cool kids’ group. As for boys, they weren’t very fond of her either, but that probably saved her some of the headaches that she encountered later on. Years later, the tables turned around when many of her old classmates showed up to one of her concerts.
Swift was mature enough to let go of the past and didn’t hold a grudge as she probably has millions of reasons to ease her mind.
8. Eva Mendes
Despite being a volleyball player, Eva Mendes wasn’t very popular in her teenage years. Being very skinny in high school, Eva Mendes became a target for some kids who mocked her big teeth. Kids can be mean since they don’t know any better, that’s why it’s important for parents and teachers to be aware of their behavior and make sure they properly educate them.
As we all know by now, it clearly didn’t affect Mendes, who has featured in some of Hollywood’s most successful films in the past 15 years, including 2 Fast 2 Furious, Hitch, Ghost Rider and The Other Guys.
One has to wonder how Mendes’s high school friends feel about her successful career, we can imagine many of them being bitter about what she has achieved. Additionally, she went on to marry Hollywood’s top heartthrob, Ryan Gosling, so eat your hearts out.
