15 Hollywood Stars Who Were Losers In High School

3. Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga was always destined to become a known person since she has always stood out. Going back to her high school days, she didn’t get along with most of her classmates, who labeled her as weird due to her interests. While most teenagers are usually just hanging out at the mall and not doing much, Gaga always kept herself busy thanks to her enthusiasm for music and theater.

Many also thought that she was annoying and difficult to be around, so they didn’t care to befriend her. It seems like was she even more misunderstood as a teenager, as she struggled to deal with that transitional period. Since breaking into fame, Gaga’s message has been consistent as far as being proud of who you are, and we can imagine that her high school days have contributed to the message that she always tries to deliver.

2. Jason Segel

During an interview with MTV, Jason Segel talked about his high school days and told a story about how kids used to jump on his back and then yell “ride the oaf!” It’s probably not the most pleasant memory for the How I Met Your Mother star.

At 6’4, Segel used to play basketball and wasn’t too shabby on the court, which probably gained him a few friends. But being tall his entire life means he always stood out from the rest of kids, which made him a punchline in his younger days. As he got older, his height was definitely much more appreciated by the ladies, who have probably been yelling the same thing as his classmates did once.

In the past 10 years, Segel has retired from basketball and taken his talents to the big screen where he starred in box office hits, including Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I Love You Man, and The Five-Year Engagement.

1. Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence is another surprising name that appears on this list, she’s as cool as it gets and her confidence is pretty high. But her classmates didn’t share that same feeling, as troubles continuously rose between them and Lawrence. It seems like those qualities didn’t translate as smoothly when she was young.

She changed schools several times, but her popularity didn’t increase since she was always treated as the new kid, and became an outsider during her teenage years. Lawrence isn’t someone who holds back, so we can imagine why she would be unpopular. High school kids tend to be followers who are just trying to be accepted by their peers.

After all these years, Lawrence is probably more than over her high school days following her enormous success as one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood.
