The company's streaming the announcement live on YouTube, asking prospective viewers to "Come check out a few new things made by Google." In addition to the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones, the company is expected to debut a smaller version of its Google Home voice assistant along with a new Chromebook. There's an option enabling a reminder for the livestream on the video itself, so hit that if you want to make sure you don't miss all the news.
The Pixel 2 smartphone , expected to cost $649 for a 64GB model ($749 for a 128GB model), will feature a Full HD display and be available in the cheekily named "just black," "kinda blue," or "clearly white." The Pixel 2 XL is expected to have a larger QHD display, and run you $849 for a 64GB model ($949 for the 128GB model). Neither smartphone is expected to feature a headphone jack, a real inconvenience if you're still holding onto some 3.5mm headphones.
Google's hardware announcement also includes a new Chromebook called the Pixelbook. The high-end notebook can fold into a tablet mode and will feature an optional Pixel Pen stylus. It's expected to cost $1,199 for the 128GB model, $1,399 for the 256GB model, and $1,749 for the 512GB option.
The last expected announcements from Google are an updated version of its virtual reality Daydream headset, as well as a smaller version of its Google Home voice assistant. The Google Home Mini will cost $49, and feature the same functionality as the larger Google Home, like Amazon's Echo Dot is to the larger Echo.
