Indian expat tweets suicidal message in UAE, rescued

He was bogged down by financial problems.

Police in UAE rescued an Indian expat after he posted a suicidal tweet.

According to an Al Ittihad report, the General directorate of Sharjah police immediately contacted an Indian man after he posted a tweet claiming that he will commit suicide due to 'difficult living conditions'.

 

The Indian man, who is in his 50s, tweeted he will hang himself due to the financial problems he was facing. The police contacted him and promised to help him in every possible way according to the law.

The assuring message put the expat at ease and the force successfully talked him out of suicide.

The police said such messages were always taken seriously, and the police always contacts the distressed persons quickly to convince them out of committing suicide.
