According to CNN, as a part of the Open Skies Treaty, a Russian Air Force Jet (unarmed) flew over the US Capitol, the Pentagon, CIA headquarters and Joint Base Andrews at low altitude. The treaty allows military aircraft from the US, Russia and other nations to do aerial observation by flying over the military sites of the 34 signatory countries.
The jet had the authorization to enter P-56, an airspace surrounding the White house; highly secure. According to a statement by a law enforcement source to CNN, the aircraft flew over other important sites like Camp David, the Presidential retreat in Catoctin Mountains, Mount Weather; one of the US government’s secret bunkers, and the Trump National Golf Course in Virginia.
