One-Year Partnership to Improve Access to Medical Care
DP World Pakistan has committed Rs7.5 million towards improving access to essential healthcare for underserved communities across Pakistan.
The company has signed a one-year agreement with Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) to strengthen emergency and critical care services.
The partnership aims to help patients who require urgent medical attention but may face difficulties accessing treatment.
As part of the initiative, the organisation has provided an intensive care unit (ICU) ventilator and defibrillators to support hospital facilities.
The donated equipment is expected to improve the network's ability to respond to serious medical emergencies.
Medical Equipment to Support Around 9,000 Patients
The healthcare initiative is expected to benefit approximately 9,000 patient encounters every year.
This includes more than 8,800 emergency cardiac care interventions supported by defibrillators and over 200 patients requiring ventilator assistance.
All treatment provided under the programme will be free of charge.
The equipment is intended to strengthen the hospital network's response to critical conditions and improve access to life-saving support.
The partnership particularly focuses on communities with limited access to essential medical services.
DP World and Indus Hospital Highlight Healthcare Commitment
Fakhr Alam, Vice Chairman and Executive Vice President of DP World Pakistan, said the partnership reflects the company's commitment to supporting communities through improved healthcare access.
Indus Hospital & Health Network founder Professor Dr Abdul Bari Khan also highlighted the importance of the donated equipment.
He said it would strengthen the hospital's ability to provide respiratory support and respond to serious cardiac emergencies.
The agreement creates an opportunity for both organisations to explore further cooperation in healthcare and community wellbeing.
Part of Wider Community Health Initiatives
The latest contribution builds on DP World Pakistan's existing community health programmes.
These activities include breast cancer awareness campaigns, eye and dermatology camps, diabetes screening and sessions promoting mental and physical wellbeing.
The company and hospital network are also considering opportunities to extend their collaboration beyond the initial one-year agreement.
The initiative represents an effort to improve access to essential medical services for people who need them most.
Its impact will be measured through the healthcare support provided to patients over the partnership period.
