Australian police have released a video, showing various people suffering the effects of synthetic drug Flakka.
Bodycam footage, the video shows a man – wearing just his underwear – crying out for help, as well as a young girl, writhing on the floor.
The drug – which is supposed to lead to an increased sense of euphoria – has been known to have hallucinogenic effects, and to induce violent and erratic behaviour.
There have been numerous cases of people having psychotic outbursts while under the influence of Flakka (or bath salts, which is very similar) with one 19-year-old in Florida even arrested for “biting off pieces of somebody’s face”.
It’s not hard to understand why authorities have nicknamed Flakka, “the zombie drug”.
Flakka – technically a legal high – can be fatal, and numerous overdoses have been reported in Australia, and in Florida, where the drug is also popular.
