Everyone these days is brainstorming, discussing, and theorizing about what makes people successful on social media. There’s talk of brands, finding a niche, being unique, posting endlessly and documenting your life on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Medium, Youtube, LinkedIn, and the 100’s of others I’m forgetting to mention. Well I’m here to give you some tips to help gain and build a following. It’s a 3-step process. Do this and do it well and and your “Brand” slowly but surely should emerge in time. Sidenote. Don’t we just love the word “Brand” by now? Comeon. We love it.

With a quick trip around google you’ll see there’s even people writing and youtubing about the time of day, location, and type of sandwich you’re eating while posting. Seems reasonable. What if it isn’t as complicated as many people would lead you to believe? Are we overthinking it? Is Whitney on to something? In trying to define our “Brand” are we missing the point? What if WE are our brand? Think about that for a second. Don’t act. Don’t pretend. More on that in a moment. Anyway, It occurred to me recently that there do seem to be some things that people with followings do, that the others don’t. 3 elements in particular stood out. I’m not saying if you do these things you’ll suddenly have 100,000 followers and be getting endorsement deals from name brands, but I believe they are 3 essential pointers that should help you out. Whether you’ve had various social accounts for a longtime or are just getting started, these are good tools for you to know and be aware of. With that said, Whitney gave me back the microphone so let’s get started.
