It seems US President Donald Trump has trouble differentiating between diseases that sound the same. Particularly, HPV (Human papillomavirus) and HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), at least according to Microsoft founder Bill Gates.
And why do we say that? Well, because Trump apparently asked him.
MSNBC’s Chris Hayes yesterday posted a couple of clips to Twitter, showing Gates during a speech to his Gates Foundation staff. In it, Gates garners a few laughs by mentioning how Trump asked him the difference between HPV and HIV...twice; once in December 2016 and once in March 2017.

“Both times he wanted to know if there was a difference between HPV and HIV,” Gates said. “So I was able to explain that those are rarely confused with each other.” Clearly Trump wasn’t paying too much attention the first time, and possibly the second time as well, so it’s likely he’s forgotten the conversations already.
